Promotion-chasing Wanderers had lost their last three games, but a brace from Stuart Lewis - his first goals for the club - Lewis Montrose's 20-yard strike and a Scott Rendell penalty saw the Chairboys bounce back in style.
Waddock said: "Credit to the players for the way they went about it in their commitment and determination.
"We lost the three games last week and when you look back on them we didn't play that badly, but here we wanted to put it right and all credit to them.
"We sensed it earlier that they were ready for it. Sometimes you don't have to say much. But we knew they would respond because they are an excellent group of players and they put it right."
