Strevens told BBC Three Counties Radio: "Hopefully we'll get a good start to get us back where we want to be.
"We've certainly got the firepower between us to get enough goals to be in a good position."
Rendell has made the move from Peterborough United after finding the net 13 times during a loan spell at Torquay United last season.
Strevens added: "I played with Scotty [Rendell] a few years ago when we were at Crawley and he's a good finisher.
"He's one of those boys that if you get the ball into the box he'll be there.
"That could be a good partnership but then Pittman's stepped up and done well - he's a quick, small forward - and then there's obviously Beavons who's out injured at the moment."
Boss Gary Waddock, who failed to keep the Chairboys in League One after taking over from Peter Taylor in October last year, has added six names to his squad already this summer.
"I think they had the nucleus of a good squad last year," Strevens added.
The squad we have now on paper should get us promoted, maybe even as champions. We have so much depth in the squad that injuries shouldn't cause us too much of a problem

"I think Peter Taylor was a little more defensive and direct than Gary wanted to be.
"I think he's putting his stamp on the squad this year and looking at it, I know you don't do anything on paper, but I think we've got a really good squad."
Meanwhile Beavon is set to see a specialist to see if he can step up his rehabilitation since breaking his leg in May.
Waddock said: "He'll be fit around the start of the season, but whether he'll have enough game time before then we'll have to wait and see."
