Wycombe dealt Bury's League Two title hopes a blow with a 3-1 win at Gigg Lane.
Already promoted, the Shakers needed a win to take top spot but were undone by a double from Ben Strevens and another from Gareth Ainsworth.
Bury took the lead after 10 minute when Danny Foster handled inside his own area and Ryan Lowe coolly slotted home the penalty.
Kyle Bennett spurned a great chance to double the lead, curling a left-foot shot narrowly wide, and Wycombe seized the chance to hit back.
Stuart Lewis delivered an excellent cross into the box and Ainsworth placed a superb header into the far corner of the net.
Scott Rendell headed over from a similar situation, while Nick Ajose's powerful shot was saved by Nikki Bull early in the second half.
Cameron Belford made a super save to tip Kevin Betsy's effort over but could do nothing when Strevens prodded Ainsworth's teasing cross into the net.
The striker completed his double two minutes from time, poking home Scott Donnelly's corner.
Wycombe head into the final weekend of the season occupying the final automatic promotion spot, a point ahead of Shrewsbury in fourth.
