Wanderers on the rise
Wycombe moved out of the bottom four with a 3-1 victory at Hartlepool, who crashed to a third successive league defeat.
Wycombe went ahead in the 15th minute when Scott Donnelly tapped into an empty net after Ben Strevens had a shot saved by Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Flinders after Paul Murray had lost possession.
Pools went close in the 35th minute as Andy Monkhouse's charge into the penalty area ended with a shot which rolled across the face of goal but within seconds the visitors struck at the other end. Gareth Ainsworth found Beavon and turned two defenders to roll a low shot past the wrong-footed Flinders.
James Poole and Neil Austin went close to reducing the arrears at the start of the second half for Pools, while Adam Boyd's overhead kick was well saved by Wycombe goalkeeper Nikki Bull.
But a third goal for the Chairboys arrived in the 83rd minute when Pools defender Sam Collins turned the ball into his own net from close range.
Pool got one back on 88 minutes, Boyd slotting in from the spot after a harsh handball against David Winfield.
