Wycombe 1-3 Bristol Rovers- Match Report

Rain leaves Rovers raging

Bristol Rovers were left frustrated as their match against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park was abandoned because of a waterlogged pitch with the visitors 3-1 up.

Two terrific strikes by Eliot Richards put Rovers in control but persistent torrential rain during the second half forced referee Andy Davies to call a halt to proceedings after 67 minutes.

Bristol Rovers went ahead in the 10th minute when David Clarkson cut inside from the left before his cut-back was swept into the top corner by Lee Brown.

But Wycombe were level within four minutes as Matt Spring's precise cross allowed Richard Logan to nod in his first goal since a summer move from Exeter City.

Richards then slammed in two spectacular goals in three minutes by first launching a 30-yard screamer into the top corner before blasting in after an awful defensive header by Charles Dunne.

A torrential thunderstorm then set in during the second half and after the players had been taken from the pitch, play was officially abandoned.
