Torquay United boosted their survival hopes with a shock 1-0 victory against promotion-chasing Wycombe at the Causeway Stadium.
The home side wasted numerous chances in the first half and paid for their sloppiness as Tony Bedeau won the game for the visitors.
The first half produced a glut of possession for the hosts, but despite this they failed to find the killer touch in front of goal.
Striker Jermain Easter, still searching for his first goal since a deadline day move from Stockport, had a shot saved on 18 minutes following a Clint Easton free-kick and on-loan Dean Bowditch fired an effort just over from 30 yards.
However, the Gulls had not come to lie down as they search for points to escape the relegation trap door. Bedeau found himself in a very good position as half time approached, but his chip was well smothered by Frank Talia in the Wycombe goal.
There was still time for two attempts from experienced hit man Tommy Mooney, but once again the found visiting keeper Andy Marriott in good form.
Half time substitute Charlie Griffin got on top of a Danny Senda free-kick with seven minutes of the second period gone, but his header flew just over the bar.
The visitors then took the lead against the run of play on 57 minutes when a quick break saw four attacking visitors against two Wycombe defenders. The ball was switched to the right and Bedeau finished with aplomb with a cross-shot past Talia.
Bedeau had a glorious chance to double his sides' lead when he ran clean through on 67 minutes. However, a brilliant last-ditch tackle from Stefan Oakes saw the ball go out for a throw.
Russell Martin nearly floated a cross beyond Marriott but the keeper recovered brilliantly to tip the ball over the top.
Oakes hit the bar with a free kick in the last minute, while both Griffin and Roger Johnson failed in their bids to turn in the loose ball.
