Wycombe won their second successive game under caretaker player manager Keith Ryan with a 1-0 win against the Pirates.
The first half produced a number of opportunities for both sides, but neither team possessed the necessary quality to take advantage. After 22 minutes Rovers striker Junior Agogo fed Stuart Campbell who blasted over the top from six yards. Wycombe had chances of their own - Ian Stonebridge collected a bad goal kick from Kevin Miller but found himself crowded out in the area. Steve Guppy, in a swan-song Wycombe appearance, drilled in a 25th minute corner which was headed over by Ryan. Gus Uhlenbeek then fired a 20-yard shot which narrowly missed the target.
The only goal of the game came on 54 minutes - Nathan Tyson was clipped in the area by Christian Edwards. Wycombe's top-scorer picked himself up and scored emphatically with the penalty.
Stonebridge wasted a glorious chance to double the home side's lead when he headed over from six yards and Kevin Miller brilliantly kept out a Roger Johnson header, both from Guppy crosses as the ex-England star showed his class.
As the game wore on Rovers threw more men into attack in an attempt to salvage a point - Agogo fizzed a 20-yard shot just wide and substitute Lewis Haldane steered a volley from a Robbie Ryan cross just wide on 81 minutes.
