Wycombe saved a point with a last-gasp equaliser which was just reward for almost 90 minutes of possession against a plucky Stockport side fighting for their lives at the bottom of League Two.
The game started brightly for the hosts with midfielder Matt Bloomfield bringing a great save from County keeper James Spencer.
The chances continued to come for the home side. Kevin Betsy and Aidan Collins should both have opened Wycombe's account, but allowed Spencer on both occasions to make the save.
Journeyman striker Tommy Mooney also brought the best out of Spencer with a dipping volley from 25 yards.
The only goal of the half came against the run of play. Hatters Captain Matthew Hamshaw took aim and planted his shot from 28 yards past Matt Duke.
Just five minutes into the second period Duke showed why Chairboys boss John Gorman had been extolling his virtues since he arrived on loan from Hull, when he flew to his left to tip away a piledriver from Stockport's Mickael Wolski.
The league leaders continued to press and left-back Clint Easton struck the County post from the edge of the area on 55 minutes.
Mooney headed just wide two minutes later as the home side really started to turn the screw.
Wycombe thought they had equalised with 15 minutes left. Mooney headed the ball into the net via a deflection from Ashley Williams, but the celebrations were cut short by a linesman's flag.
The home side did eventually draw level on 89 minutes as substitute Ian Stonebridge prodded the ball home from inside the six-yard box to rescue a point.
